Troy - 2 1/2 years old

It is so hard to believe my baby boy is 2 1/2 years old.  It has been so fun lately watching him grow and change.  His vocabulary and speech has really developed the past six months.  You can carry on a good conversation with him.  You can even talk to him on the phone and understand exactly what he is saying.

He is very much a decision maker.  HE has to choose what clothes he will wear each day and he will let you know if he does not like what you have picked out.  Most of the days we give him options to make it easier on us.  What really cracks me up is that sometimes he will look back and forth between which shirt or pants to wear before he makes a decision.  90% of the time he will pick out khakis.  I think this is funny too because it seems like he doesn't like wearing jeans.  He is also this way with his shoes.  He used to be very particular about wearing his new balance tennis shoes and they were the only shoes he would wear, but a good friend gave us some cute trendy shoes, and now he picks one of those pair most of the time.  He is also particular about what pajamas he wears.  He has ball ball pajamas, choo choo pajamas, cars pajamas, and doggy pajamas.  If one of the pairs are dirty, we really have to make the other ones sound like fun pajamas to wear.  Some nights there are tears because the ones he wanted to wear are not clean.

He enjoys his family being together, he wants us all to go in the same car (most of the time daddy's truck), or to sit on the couch together. We tease him all the time and ask him if he is a mommy's boy or a daddy's boy.  He most definately is a daddy's boy, unless his daddy has made him "mad."

Bed time is still a hassel with him.  Brian does a much better job at it than I do.  I'm a sucker and Troy knows it.  I will rock Troy, he'll fall asleep in my arms, and then when I put him down, he wakes up and cries for me and I have to rock him again.  Some nights, it will take me an hour to put him down.  Brian can do it in 10 minutes.  It's amazing.  Brian will put Troy in the bed wide awake, and Troy won't hardly even cry.  However, most nights we give Troy a choice of who puts him in the bed....Most of the time, he chooses "mommy bed."

Eating is still a tough thing. He is very healthy, but getting him to eat consistently is a battle. Some meals he will eat three pieces of pizza and some meals he won't eat anything. One day he likes chicken nuggets, the next day he doesn't. He ALWAYS likes cereal bars, pop tarts, and pancakes.

He loves to smile for the camera and to say "cheeeeeese".  If he sees that you have a camera out, he will insist that you take a picture of him.  He also enjoys looking at pictures and will name everyone in the pictures.

He understands consequences and disciplining him is......whew!!!  Like I said before he doesn't like to be away from anyone, so the biggest form of punishment is sending him to his room.  Spankings do not work with him right now.  He has gotten his fair share of spankings, but sending him to his room turns on the tears and the "I'm sorries".  He is very rough with Kaylee Jane in one minute and very sweet to her the next.

Right now, he loves Mickey Mouse, Cars, and trains.  He loves to play games on the Ipad and watch videos on the ipad and iphones too.  He can work both of them by himself and get to his games.  I can only imagine what the rest of his "twos" will bring.
