When we left the hospital, Troy's bili level was 11 and his weight was 7.11, on Saturday morning, his level was 17 and his weight was 7.7. Because of the increase in the bili level and the continual decrease in weight, the doctor prescribed phototherapy. Each day, the nurses came to check his level and weight. On the last day of their check, his weight was back up to 8 pounds and his level was 9.9.

Troy was on the bililights for a total four days to help with his jaundice. During this time, it was difficult not to hold him, but we are so thankful that he was able to be at home and not at the hospital. Also, thankfully, Troy was content laying in his lights, so we didn't have to watch him cry.
One night, we thought that Troy's feet were cold, so we put socks on him before we zipped up his bililight blanket. Once we zipped up his blanket, Troy kicked and kicked his feet like he was aggrevated. Finally, we unzipped him, took off his socks, zipped him back up, and you could see the sigh of relief on his face. It was cute, he just did not want socks on his feet while in the bilibed.
So far, Troy has been a happy baby. Both the doctors and nurses have told us that because he was jaundice, he will sleep a good bit more and we have to wake him to feed him. That has probably been the hardest part, just making sure that he is getting enough to eat.
The biggest adjustment for both Brian and I is realizing how fast the days go by. We are enjoying this sweet time with Troy and I've really enjoyed that Brian has been able to be home all week.
Week 1 Photo
He gets cuter every time I see him! That's funny about him not wanting the socks on... we had a hard time swaddling AK when she was born because she couldn't stand for her arms to be pinned down.
