6 months

I can not believe that Troy is a half a year old. WOW, time flies! He is so much fun right now...I know I say that every month, but he really is. We are really blessed because he really is a sweet, happy baby. He absolutely loves his jumperoo. It is a blast to watch him in it. Most days, he would stay it in for an hour if we'd let him.

He is a good little eater too. He eats rice and a vegetable at daycare, and normally two vegetables and a fruit for dinner. He does not like sweet peas very much, but he does like everything else. I think sweet potatoes are his favorite. He still drinks 5-6 bottles a day. My goal was to give him breastmilk for 6 months...I met my goal and now he gets formula only. It was really hard to keep up with pumping after my Washington trip. At his 6 month check up, he weighed over 16 pounds.

He is almost sitting up by himself. He is definately a "roller." He will roll all around the living room.

Things I love about my baby this month:
I love how happy he is.
I love how he turns his head to find you when you're talking to him.
I love how calm he is.
I love how when you go to pick him up out of car seat, he tries to "help" you by arching his back to get out.

Thanksgiving

This year, we celebrated Thanksgiving at my cousins house in Cumming, Georgia. She and her husband cooked a delicious dinner!

Washington, DC

I have a state FBLA officer this year at school. One of the responsibilities of a state officer is to attend the National Fall Leadership Conference, and her advisor must also attend. Therefore, I had to leave Brian and Troy and head to Washington, DC for 6 days. It was a great trip, but I did miss Brian and Troy very much.

While I was gone, Troy's daycare called Brian and told him he had a 101 fever. Brian had to leave work and take him to the doctor. Troy had a double ear infection. The doctor also weighed Troy and he weight 16.7 pounds fully dressed. Brian had to stay home the next day with Troy. Troy hasn't been sick at all and of course when I'm out of town, he gets sick. I was heart broken that I wasn't there for him.

Troy Homecoming

Troy Homecoming was a lot of fun this year. We took the camper and went down Friday night. It was nice not to have to rush Saturday morning to get to Troy in time for the parade. After the parade, we headed to FarmHouse to eat lunch with the alumni and current brothers. We enjoyed spending the day and watching the game with our FH friends. After the game, we went to the Bushes. The game ended in a disappointing loss, but spending time with friends was great!

5 months

It's been another great month and it has flown by. Troy really is a lot of fun. He is so interactive now. He is so observant and loves his toys. We put a toy on his car seat and he loves to reach up to it and play with it. He has also loves his jumperoo.

I packed up his clothes tonight that no longer fit and it's amazing how big he has gotten. He is still an eater. He now eats rice cereal at daycare and baby food for dinner. He is also still drinking five-six bottles of milk each day (2-3 bottles of formula, and 3 bottles of breastmilk).

We've always said that when we had children, we wanted them to adapt to our busy lifestyle and schedule. We have done just that, and Troy doesn't miss a beat. We have taken him to Troy football games, Calera football games, and several other places. He is just such a good baby.

We're still in the same routine. Brian gets Troy dressed every morning and I take him to daycare.

Things I love about my baby this month:
I love watching him in his jumperoo.
I love watching him eat real food.
I love how he smells.
I LOVE that band practice is over and I get to go get him at 3:30 most days.

Jumperoo

Some friends from church gave us their jumperoo because their children had outgrown it. Troy LOVES it. He jumps, giggles, stares at the birds. It is so much fun to watch him in it.

Kaylee's Recitals

Kaylee had a very busy day on recital day.  She had three recitals - one dance recital and two baton recitals.    Her recital was dance and ...
