Wildcat Baseball

Troy balanced playing park ball and travel ball this spring.  The kid loves baseball.  Most of the games in park ball, he played second base.  His team had an ok season - won some and lost some.  We are the only team in the league that beat the number one team, but we are also the only team in the league that got beat by the worse team.  We did manage to beat every team in the league at least once and another team in our league can not say that.  We unfortunately played the best team SEVEN times and all the other teams only once or twice.  At the end of the season tournament, we came in fourth place.

Troy made a goal at the beginning of the season to make 30 outs.  I wish I had counted for him, I'm sure he had to have met that goal.  He made lots of throws to first to make the out, lots of outs at second (either running himself, catching or throwing to second), and caught lots of pop ups.  He also got a few double plays.  He was pretty excited in the last game of the season because he caught a line drive and tagged his base to get the double play.  The player on his base also happens to be one of the best players in the league and Troy was pumped to get him out.  His coach told us after that game that they didn't even tell Troy what to do and before they could even get it out of their mouth to tag his base, he had already done it.  Not only does the kid love baseball, he understands it.
