Troy's Baseball Season

To say that Troy loves baseball would be an understatement.  He LOVES baseball.  This was his first spring playing coach pitch and it was a fun year.  I enjoyed watching him play and get better.  Even at home, he wanted to practice all the time.  By the end of the season, he was pretty consistent at hitting the ball and getting pretty good at catching balls in the air too.

He played on team graphite and they were a good team.  They played 20 games, and only lost two games (to the same team) but were able to beat that team in the last game we played.  It was a very competitive season..  They played two - three times a week, but I only took pictures at two games.

To begin the season, Troy played right field because he always backed up the first basemen.  They moved him to left field because he was pretty good at stopping the ground balls.  When we were really ahead of the other team, the coaches would move him to the infield, so he got good experience playing a little bit everywhere.  He got to play third base one game though because the third basemen was late.  Troy did a great job at third base, catching every ball that came his way and made several outs.  He even almost caught one in the air. He also got hit in the face at the game which made his nose bleed, but he was tough, and got back out there and kept playing.  This was Troy's favorite game and I might have cheered like a proud mom that night when he was catching them and making outs.

His teacher, Mrs. Cooke even came to one of his games.

He had such a fun season and is already asking when he gets to play again, so we signed up for a summer league at the Y.
