I haven't gotten a chance to write about the name we chose for our baby girl and why we chose that name. We announced the name on Mother's Day.
We chose Kaylee Jane. All along, I really wanted something with Lee in it. My middle name is Lee, my mother's middle name is Lee (her maiden name), my cousin's middle name is Lee, all named after my Grandmother Lee. I didn't really care if Lee was the middle name or part of the name, I just knew that I wanted Lee and I wanted it spelled Lee, not any other way. Kaylee just worked. My mother's first name is Jane, so that is where the Jane comes from. Kaylee Jane is in honor of my grandmother and my mother. I wish my grandmother were here to see my children. She taught me so much, and there is so much more I wish had taken the time to learn from her.
One funny story is that while we were visiting Brian's dad while he was in the hospital in April, he told us he had the perfect name for us. Kaylee. Brian and I just laughed. We didn't tell them then that was one of our top picks.
We still have so much to do before Kaylee gets here, but we are finally working towards it. We have gotten her bedding and we're working on painting her furniture now. I finally bought girl material this weekend so I can start making things for her.
Brian and I went through all of Troy's clothes to see if anything could pass off as girl clothes. We saved quite a few things for her. I have also bought her a couple of GIRL sleepers because I just loved how Troy looked in sleepers, I know I will love sleepers on her too.
Kaylee moves A LOT, and I enjoy feeling her move. I don't really have any cravings of things that I just HAVE to have, but I have really enjoyed fruit (watermelon, peaches, strawberries, pineapple, any fruit really) and lemonade with cut up strawberries in it. Sleeping at night is very uncomfortable.
