School's out for Summer

To celebrate the first weekend of summer, we went camping in Decatur with friends.  We chose that place so that we could go to the Hot Air Balloon Festival on Saturday.

It was a perfect weekend.  The weather was perfect, the relaxation was perfect, the company was perfect, and the kids loved playing together.

Saturday, we woke up and saw the balloons floating over the river from our campsite.  Then, we went to the festival and saw the tractor show and the arts and craft show.  We came back to the campground and the kids absolutely loved playing in the water.  That night, we went back to the balloon festival to see the night glow.

Sunday was just as much fun.  The kids rode bikes, played in the water and we played games. I commented several times that this was the definition of summer - playing outside in the sun and being with friends and family.  That night, we were able to have a camp fire and roast smores and the kids put on an electric light show!

It was supposed to rain Monday so we loaded up early and came home.  As we were driving away, it started to rain.  It was a great trip.
