Tball Season

Troy was so excited for his first t-ball game. He loves playing. When you ask him what his favorite part is, he usually says hitting and running. Troy's t-ball team is mostly three year olds with a couple of four year olds. Only a couple of the kids have played before, so this is brand new for them. Brian is one of the coaches.

Three weeks before the season started, we practiced every Tuesday and Friday nights for an hour. At each practice, they truly did get better. The first game was very funny. Our team batted first. One of Troy's teammates hit the ball, chased his ball to the pitcher's mound and tackled the pitcher. I got so tickled because that particular boy never chased his ball at practice. Troy does great at running to the bases. He always knows where to run when he hits. We are still working on hitting the ball hard. When he concentrates, he makes good contact with the ball.

When our team got on the field to field the ball, they were all focused - so much that when a ball was hit - they all ran and chased the ball and tackled each other to get to it. It was exactly what you expect a 3&4 year old tball game to look like.

This is Troy's friend, Will. I love that he and Troy are on the same team. Troy calls him "Wilt". If I ask him whose team he is on (trying to get him to say Wildcats), he tells me "Wilt's team". After the game, John, his friend Wesley and his kids, Jaime and her family, and Brian's mom all came over for a pizza lunch. It was a gorgeous day. A game of kickball was played in our yard and as I sat on the swing watching them play, I was so thankful we have a yard big enough for a kickball game.
