Family Beach Trip

We were so fortunate to make a weeklong trip to the beach with Brian's family.  His sister and her family were able to stay half the week and his mom stayed with us the entire week.  Troy and Kaylee loved having their cousins to play with.  We went to the beach each morning, spent most of the afternoons at the pool, and then had an early dinner.

We did take Kaylee and Troy to an "amusement" park one night.  They said that was one of their favorite parts.  They got to ride the kddie rides and Troy even got to drive a kiddie go cart.  They didn't tell him how to work the gas or brake - so he was only familar with the gas - he bumped into someone and then at the end, he rear ended the car in front of him while pressing the gas!

They also got to ride go carts with us, Kaylee rode with me and Troy rode with Brian.  I think that was one of my favorite parts - watching Kaylee's face during the ride.  If you know Kaylee, you know that she does not hide her emotions very well...you sometimes get to watch the low melt downs and sassiness, but when you get those highs of excitement, it fills your heart.  I hope I never forget her facial expressions when she is excited about something.   Brian also said that was his favorite part - riding with Troy - they claim they came in first place in the go cart race.

Troy said his favorite part was being with Andrew and Daniel. They played in the sand, swam together, and also played lots of games on Uno.  He looks up to his cousins so much and I'm so glad they have a fun friendship.  Troy also liked playing in the water and looking for shells, but I'm not sure he actually loved the beach.  He got to boogie board some and he and Brian played lots of games of football in the pool.

You could tell that Kaylee loved the beach.  She loved playing in the sand and sat under the umbrella for a long time content to play.  She loved chasing the waves, hopping over them, and even riding on top of them. She had no fear.

One of Brian's favorite part of a beach trip is eating out...not because of the eating part, but because he loves the beach atmosphere - sitting on a deck with a view of the ocean and a cool breeze blowing. He also got to see his high school best friend for dinner one night.

Taking pictures for a family of 11 was interesting!  It's hard to get everyone looking at the camera and the wind was out of control.

We were lucky to have good weather all week and it only rained a couple of times (and usually when we wanted to go inside anyway).
